Edward Mazria, an internationally recognized architect and author of The Passive Solar Energy Book, will explore the science behind these events and the historic role the design and building community must play in addressing them. The tour will include six homes in Santa Barbara and Montecito, including an award-winning green home and a straw bale home. Tour goers will be able to learn the latest in green building techniques from top designers and sustainable construction vendors to incorporate green design into their own home.

The gathering of AIA members, community leaders and the community to work together towards a plan for the Upper State Street project.

“A Day in LA”
LA Cathedral & Walt Disney Concert Hall – We will start off with coffee and a ride to Los Angeles. Our first stop will be The Cathedral of Our Lady of The Angels designed by José Rafael Moneo, Honorary AIA. You will have the opportunity to do a self-guided tour and enjoy the landscape. At 10:30 we will walk up to the Walt Disney Concert Hall designed by Frank Gehry, FAIA, for a guided tour. After the tour you be on your own to relax and have lunch before the concert. The concert starts at 2:00. Following the concert we will return home.
