Southern Santa Barbara County Habitat for Humanity
Habitat relies on donations of usable building materials as inventory for their ReStore program. We take items such as new lumber or other leftover building materials, used cabinetry in good condition, dual-glazed windows, solid-core doors, architectural details, and sale-able light fixtures. We do NOT accept appliances, carpet, hollow-core doors, single glazed windows, paint, or furniture. If there are items that can be used in the construction of Habitat homes, the material will be set aside for those projects. Additional items will be sold to homeowners doing their own remodeling jobs to provide income for Habitat for Humanity construction projects. In this manner, building materials that are salvaged do not contribute to the landfill, but are recycled and re-purposed.
